Am I the only one out there slacking when it comes to skincare? My night time skincare routine has been thrown out of the window by exhaustion thanks to my active toddler, well since she has been here really, I just need to stop being lazy when it comes to skincare and other things really, maybe to be addressed in another post, who knows. But, I think I do pretty well with my morning skin care routine. I have very oily skin, my whole face gets shiny, strobing got nothing on me. As oily as it is, my skin needs to be hydrated, and finding a hydrating moisturiser that worked well and did not leave me looking like a shiny mess a few minutes after application has been hard. Not anymore, simple hydrating light moisturiser is really good though, especially winter time but hands down the best hydrating moisturiser for oily skin is the Monu Hydrating Moisturiser SPF 15!!

I received a sample of the moisturiser in one of the beauty boxes I was subscribed to early last year and fell in love with it straight away. It is from the brand MONU PROFESSIONAL SKINCARE that offer natural skincare. They are against animal testing, they use the best of nature such as plants, herbs, minerals and the products are made in the UK.

According to Monu Skincare, the moisturiser is formulated to prevent sun damage and premature ageing. Containing Instant Blur technology, it blurs imperfections and corrects skin tone. It is paraben free and can be used by all skin types.

Zinc Oxide provides a physical barrier against the sun's harmful rays.

Cassia Alata Leaf Extract reduces the visible signs of photo-ageing and protects the skin against UV damage.

Blackcurrant Seed Oils boost moisture levels, restores softness, elasticity and suppleness.

Vitamin E, an antioxidant, fights free radicals,

Protected, younger-looking skin today and tomorrow.

Apply every morning after cleansing and toning.

I am just going to go straight into it, this is by far the best moisturiser I have ever tried! It does not leave my face feeling greasy. Most moisturisers with SP tend to be too greasy for my skin but this one is just amazing. My skin pretty much stays matte all day, slight blotting here and there but nothing excessive like I normally get. My skin is a lot brighter and healthy looking, acne scars seem to be fading too.

The moisturiser is thick in consistency but sinks into the skin pretty quickly,  I usually use one and a half pump.

Priced at £29.95 it is a bit pricey, but it will last you a really long time and it is so worth it. It is safe to change your sun protection every year though, since SPF is not as effective after a year.

What type of moisturiser do you use?

Lots of love,

Kapinda. X

P.S You can get it for £23.15 on feelunique. Check out my previous post if you are looking for a moisturiser that does the same but with a tint in it and better SPF.

Spring is here, Summer is almost here and no one likes a heavy foundation during the hot seasons. Tinted moisturisers always come in handy whenever you just want something light that can even out your skintone. When you have very oily skin, finding a good tinted moisturiser that will not leave you oily in a minute is a bit hard so when I saw the Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint on the Sephora website, I knew I had to get it and try it, plus it has SPF30!

This is my first Nars purchase so I cannot compare it to other tinted moisturisers by the brand but it comes in 12 different shades and I opted for the shade, Polynesia Dark 1. According to Nars, the Velvet Matte Skin Tint with SPF 30/PA+++ effortlessly presents and protects with a soft-matte finish. The oil-free formula wears comfortably, maintaining skins natural moisture barrier, while working to control shine throughout the day. It helps to blur imperfections, even the look of skintone and smooth the appearance of pores and fine lines.

I have only used it twice but so far so good and I think it is enough for me to know that I love it. I wore it throughout the day on both days and it kept me matte for about 7 and a half hours. My nose is the only place that got oily really and this comes from someone who gets oily everywhere and not just the T-zone. I did not wear any primer or any setting powder.

The Matte Skin Tint has a sheer coverage but you can easily build it to medium coverage so it will not cover all imperfections. My acne scar did slightly peak through but I did not mind. My skin looked evened out and matte just how I like it. It stayed in place and did not separate or crease.

The formula is very lightweight which makes it so comfortable to wear. Made me forget I was wearing any makeup.

Next day with a full face of makeup

It is easy to blend. I used my fingers to apply it and then used a damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge which gave me a smooth finish. It looked a bit red when I was applying it but it looked great once I was done blending it into my skin.

Overall, I think it is an amazing tinted moisturiser and I will be getting a few more products from Nars. LOVE IT.

What is your favourite tinted moisturiser?

Hey loves,

I am sure we all know the importance of a routine by now, so I will not go into it. If not I would suggest you google it, sorry having a very lazy writing moment.

Bedtime routine usually changes as they grow and this is Liseli's current bedtime routine. She is 15 months old.

 7:00 pm Bath.

Liseli loves her baths, will give her a wash, brush her teeth. she then plays with her bath toys and bath book. She has normal to dry skin which is prone to mild eczema so we use the Aveeno body wash for dry and sensitive skin and it works pretty well.

7:20 pm

Massage and moisturise using Optima raw virgin coconut oil.

7:30 pm Story Time

When I am done reading one of the books, she gets the book, flips through it and reads. It is the cutest thing ever. Her favourite is Kiss Goodnight Sam by Amy Hest.

7:50 pm Bed

We say a prayer, kiss her goodnight, tell her we love her, switch on her Summer Infant Slumber Buddies Night Light and put her down. She falls asleep by 8:00pm.

What does your toddlers bedtime routine look like?

Lots of love,
